Marcel McManus, Sr. has been with The Sherrod Institute since 2020, serving as the station manager and radio personality. He hosts a dynamic and inspiring radio show syndicated out of the "Good Life City" of Albany, GA. The show captivates listeners worldwide with its eclectic mix of gospel music, uplifting interviews, biblical discussions, community topics, and insightful "Wisdom Moments."
A native of Toombs County, Georgia, McManus was raised in a Christian home where music and singing were integral parts of his family life. His great-grandfather, the late Bishop James Holland, was a guitarist who taught his son, Pastor Julian V. Holland, who in turn passed on his musical knowledge to his son and nephews. McManus’ mother, Jennifer Floyd, sang to him while pregnant with him, before giving birth to him on December 22, 1984.
In addition to his radio career, McManus recently released his debut book, God Trusted Me With the Mic. His deep roots in gospel music were nurtured within his family, and he developed a strong understanding of the genre. While many family members played the guitar or drums, McManus was drawn to the sounds of the keyboard, piano, and organ.
